Privacy Policy

Airside is built around your personal flight history. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, where it goes, and how you can delete it.

Data We Collect

Collection and flight log data. Your aircraft collection, flight records, airport visits, ratings, and notes are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. No account is required to use these features.

Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we store your email address and display name in Firebase Authentication to identify your account. Flight Deck subscribers have their collection synced to Google Cloud Firestore for backup and community features.

Usage analytics and ad identifiers. The app uses Google AdMob for advertising, which may collect device advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) and standard usage signals to serve and measure ads. This applies to free-tier users only — Flight Deck subscribers see no ads and have no ad identifiers collected through AdMob.

AI Photo Identification

When you use the Identify feature, your photo is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. The image is sent over an encrypted connection and is not stored by Airside after identification completes. Anthropic's use of data submitted via API is governed by their privacy policy.

Data Storage

Your collection and flight log are stored locally on your device and never leave it unless you sign in and enable cloud sync as part of a Flight Deck subscription. No account is required to use the core collection features. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Deletion

You can reset your collection at any time from the Settings screen inside the app. This clears all locally stored flight logs, aircraft records, and airport data from your device.

If you have a signed-in account, you can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data from the Account screen. To request deletion of any remaining data, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Advertising

Free-tier users see native ad cards within the aircraft card grid, provided by Google AdMob. No personal data is shared with advertisers beyond standard device identifiers as described in Google's privacy policy. Flight Deck subscribers see no ads.

Children

Airside is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
